food4thought

Responding to Mr Rajendra Pachauri’s, Chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), call to eat less meat, Food4Thought aims to raise awareness on the contribution of meat consumption to climate change and promote an environmentally sustainable diet.
According to FAO's 2006 “Livestock's Long Shadow” report, the livestock sector is one of the top two or three most significant contributors to the most serious environmental problems, at every scale from local to global 2 .
Starting from August 2008, in collaboration with Vegetarian Society Singapore and Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation (Singapore Branch), the campaign seeks to educate students and staff about vegetarian diet being the more environmentally sustainable diet.
