Besides exhibits featuring the university-wide initiatives, there will be a display of University Town exhibits on sustainability.  The University Town is an extension of the National University of Singapore Kent Ridge Campus that will host the Youth Olympics delegates in 2010.  The University Town aims for the Platinum Green Mark certification and will be a model of green and sustainable development with academic, sport and leisure facilities as well as contemporary hostel accommodations.

Visitors will also be able to view the NUS-ECO1, an eco-friendly car rolled out by a group of NUS students from the Department of Mechanical Engineering.  NUS-ECO1 was launched by Mr Lee Yuen Hee, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Environment Agency, on 7 May 2008.  Running on Gas-to-Liquids (GTL) fuel which burns cleaner than conventional fuel, the futuristic four-wheeled single-seater with a top speed of 45 km/h is able to cover 100 kilometres with one litre of fuel.  NUS-ECO1 can be easily modified to become a road-going car, for instance, by increasing the fuel capacity and seating room.

Final year projects on eco-product design and sustainability by the students of the School of Design and Environment will also be showcased.
