Green carnival 2008
Background
Climate change is now an established scientific fact. The Earth’s climate is changing for the worse, as evident from the observations of increases in global average air and ocean temperatures, widespread melting of snow and ice and rising global average sea level. This is the result of anthropogenic (human induced) changes to the composition of our atmosphere.
Recognizing that climate change is unequivocal, NUS, as a university of global standing, will lead our community in a concerted effort to meet this global climate challenge.
SAVE’s annual flagship project, Green Carnival 2008, will serve as the platform for NUS to underline this commitment publicly. This is an unprecedented initiative among all tertiary institutions in Singapore.
